The Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is launched an Oroeasy mobile app in 2021. This mobile app is funded by the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund and the Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services. It is designed for the speech therapists, patients and the general public.
CUHK Oroeasy app is intended to provide a convenient way for the speech therapists to register the patients in need, tailor-made suitable oral motor training programmes for their patients, and keep track on the compliance of the patients in performing the exercises.
The patients could follow the tailored-made oral motor exercise training programme by watching videos. The progress in performing the training programme could be monitored by the speech therapist.
The mobile app could also provide an easy-to-access mean for the general public to select and follow the oral motor exercises.

Divison of Speech Therapy, Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong has a long track record as being the leader in research in dysphagia, voice disorders, hearing implantation and rehabilitation. The first ever validated assessment kit on Cantonese-speaking hearing impaired children, the Cantonese Basic Speech Perception Test, was developed and published by the former Division of Otorhinolaryngology. The Division has also been taking a leading role in running training workshops in Hong Kong and mainland China for front-line professionals in managing clients of communication and swallowing difficulties.
Speech and Hearing Social Enterprise Limited (SHSE) was established with the supports of Sustainable Knowledge Transfer Project Fund (S-KPF) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). SHSE provides training workshops, seminars and research project consultations for speech therapists, audiologists as well as other related professionals. She also organizes various educational talk to increase public awareness of communication disorders, and thus to achieve social inclusion.
The Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIE Fund), as a catalyst for social innovation in Hong Kong, connects our community with different sectors, including businesses, NGOs, academics and philanthropies to create social impact through innovative solutions that address poverty and social exclusion. Oroeasy app includes a training collection that cater for exercising the oral motor musculatures. General Public can access the collection for exercise. Registration is not required for using the app as a guest. The app could be downloaded from the Apple app store or Google play store.
With Oroeasy, Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) could create individualised oral motor training program to their patients and keep track on the compliance of the training performance. If you would like to participate as trainee, please consult your SLP to create a trainee account for you.
Oroeasy app contains comprehensive video database for oral motor exercises. Registered trainer could create individualised treatment regime for their patients. Speech therapist are eligible to register the account. To register a trainer account, please make registration in the following form. After submitting the form, you would receive an acknowledgement email. Your entry would be validated within 14 working days. Oroeasy team would send the login information to successful applicants.

Registered SLP trainer could appoint their colleagues to register a trainer account. The SLP trainer are required to give necessary guidance to their appointee for using the app and creating individualised training to people. The appointee could make registration in the following link. An signed appointee application form would be required to complete the registration. After submitting the form, you would receive an acknowledgement email. Your entry would be validated within 14 working days. Oroeasy team would send the login information to successful applicants.
